കോഴിക്കോട്: ഏറെ വിവാദമായ മണിയൂർ പോക്‌സോ കേസിൽ അറസ്റ്റിലായ പ്രവാസി വ്യവസായി വടകര ബാങ്ക് റോഡ് സ്വദേശി ചങ്ങരോത്ത് അബ്ദുൾ റഫീഖിനെ 48 ഇന്ന് കോടതിയിൽ ഹാജരാക്കും. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസമാണ് കോഴിക്കോട് റൂറൽ ജില്ലാ ക്രൈംബ്രാഞ്ച് ഇയാളെ കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തത്.

പൊലീസ് കേസ് എടുത്തതോടെ റഫീഖ് വിദേശത്തേക്ക് കടന്നു. ഇതോടെ പെൺകുട്ടിയുടെ മാതാവിനെ മാത്രമായിരുന്നു പൊലീസിന് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞത്. പിന്നീട് നാട്ടിലെത്തിയ ഇയാൾ കൊയിലാണ്ടി ഫാസ്റ്റ് ട്രാക്ക് കോടതിയിൽ കീഴടങ്ങി ജാമ്യം നേടി. ഇതോടെയാണ് നാട്ടുകാർ ആക്ഷൻ കമ്മിറ്റി രൂപീകരിച്ച പ്രതിഷേധം ശക്തമാക്കിയത്.

Payyoli Police had registered the case on January 16 based on the 12-year-old girl's disclosure. After the case was registered, Rafeek had gone abroad. Later he returned, surrendered before Koyilandy Fast Track Court and obtained bail, after which locals formed an action committee and intensified protest.
