നാലാം ക്ലാസുകാരിയെ പീഡിപ്പിച്ച കേസിൽ പ്രതിയായ അധ്യാപകനും ബിജെപി നേതാവുമായ പത്മരാജന്റെ ജീവിതാവസാനം വരെയുള്ള ജീവപര്യന്തം തടവുശിക്ഷ മരവിപ്പിച്ച് ഹൈക്കോടതി ജാമ്യം നൽകിയതിനെതിരെ സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാർ സുപ്രീം കോടതിയിൽ. ഹൈക്കോടതി ഉത്തരവിനെതിരെ സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാർ അപ്പീൽ നൽകി. ഹൈക്കോടതി വിധിയിൽ എല്ലാ കാര്യങ്ങളും പരിശോധിച്ചില്ലെന്ന് ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടിയാണ് നടപടി.

സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാരിനായി സ്റ്റാന്റിങ് കോൺസൽ മർസൂഖ് ബാഫഖി തങ്ങളാണ് അപ്പീൽ സമർപ്പിച്ചത്. നേരത്തെ തലശ്ശേരി ഫാസ്റ്റ് ട്രാക്ക് സ്പെഷ്യൽ കോടതി വിധിച്ച ശിക്ഷ ചോദ്യംചെയ്യുന്ന അപ്പീലിനോടൊപ്പം നൽകിയ ഉപഹർജി അനുവദിച്ചാണ് ജസ്റ്റിസ് വി. രാജ വിജയരാഘവൻ, ജസ്റ്റിസ് കെ.വി. ജയകുമാർ എന്നിവരടങ്ങിയ ഹൈക്കോടതി ബെഞ്ച് ജാമ്യം നൽകിയത്.

പെൺകുട്ടിയുടെ മൊഴികളിൽ വലിയ പൊരുത്തക്കേടുകളുണ്ടെന്ന പ്രതിയുടെ വാദത്തിൽ കഴമ്പുണ്ടെന്ന് വിലയിരുത്തിയാണ് ശിക്ഷ മരവിപ്പിച്ചത്. ഒരുലക്ഷം രൂപയുടെ ബോണ്ടും തുല്യതുകയ്ക്കുള്ള രണ്ട് ആൾജാമ്യവുമാണ് ജാമ്യവ്യവസ്ഥ. പെൺകുട്ടി താമസിക്കുന്ന ജില്ലയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കരുതെന്നും മൂഹികമാധ്യമങ്ങളിലടക്കം കേസിനെക്കുറിച്ച് പ്രതികരിക്കരുതെന്നും വ്യവസ്ഥയിൽ പറയുന്നു.

2020 ജനുവരി 15 മുതൽ ഫെബ്രുവരി രണ്ടുവരെയുള്ള കാലയളവിൽ പെൺകുട്ടിയെ പലതവണ പീഡിപ്പിച്ചെന്നാണ് കേസ്. ബിജെപി പ്രാദേശിക നേതാവായിരുന്നു പത്മരാജൻ
